new photobridge model?

Sun Feb 27, 2005 5:22 pm

The HD1000 is discontinued at Amazon. The HD1000 without photopacks is discontinued at crutchfield. Interestingly, crutchfield lists an "hd1500" which seems to be the hd1000 plus six artpacks, and is out of stock until mid-March.

All this leads one to question the production status of the HD1000!

Many of our retailers are mograting to selling the Gallery collection (HD1500) exclusively. The HD1000 will continue to be available on our website.

The HD1000/HD1500 are still in production and we have not announced any replacement/new product.

I can corroborate this. I called my local Tweeter this past weekend hoping to be able to locate a revision B HD1000 locally, and I was told the HD1000 was no longer sold by them and that in the future instead they would sell the HD1500 package which is the same except with the art pack included. So, it looks like if you want only the HD1000, you'll have to buy direct.

seems like a strange call to make on the part of the vendor.

The art might be nice, but an extra $100 spent when I'm buying this unit to display *my* art seems crazy. I'm surprised they don't want customers to have that choice...as opposed to the choice of going to someone else.

I've got one that I'm returning to Crutchfield sometime this week, do you want it? It's the HD1000 with the Arts Pack for $399. It's almost 3 weeks old. It works except of my frustration streaming my Snaptream BTV recordings!

To answer your questions, Roku will only be selling the HD1000 from their web store. All dealers will now be stocking and selling the HD1500 (Gallery Collection).

Hope this helps.
