I just joined the ranks of the Roku-less: bought it July 2005, RIP May 31, 2007. It will be shipped off to Pyramid Audio on Monday.

It's pretty amazing that just about every one of these things appears to be faulty.

A bad design is a bad design and therefore it will be a failure for just about everyone! :(

You really don't realize how much you use the box until it dies. Then it's like, "OUCH!"

I sent my HD1000 off to Pyramid Audio, delighted to say I have it back filling the room with music :D
A really big thanks to both Matt and Chris for taking care of my broken PhotoBridge, they really did a great job.
If anyone has a broken PhotoBridge and they're anyway hesitant about fixing it themselves then I would be happy to recommend Pyramid Audio.

I just got one of my units back from pyramid-audio. The unit had a bad ps and a bad voltage regulator. Matt and the folks at pyramid were great its running nicely and I recommend them highly to those needing their broken roku hd1000 fixed. :)

Another Pyramid-Audio fan here. One of my Rev B units broke on Sunday - I mailed it on Monday and received it back by UPS on Friday - working as good as ever. :)

Hope they keep fixing Photobridge's - I have three more that could go out any day now.

Very happy.

Bill, Send them in one at a time and have them reworked if you want. At least this way you'll have the down time when YOU choose it.
Reagrds, Matt

TO EVERYONE THAT HAS RESPONDED about their service, thanks for the great feed back and taking time to post about it.

Add me to the list of people with a dead power supply. I have an early Rev B. I had a feeling it was going to go, seemed hotter than normal and the card readers were flaky for the past couple of months. I've had a morex supply sitting around since sometime last year just in case.

Hacked it in last night and the box is back up and running. So how long before the motherboard regulators fail? I think when that happens it will be time to move on...

Just incase you want to keep it, Pyramid does offer a third option now; it's for people like yourself that have a Morex installed. All it does is address the motherboard (repair and/or heat sink).

We have had a couple people that had Morex supplies installed (before they knew there was an option for repairing the OEM one) send their dead unit in, and we have repaired their mother boards and they are happy campers back in business again.

How much do you guys charge for the m/b fix for those who installed morex power supplies (3rd option)?

Figured I'd add my name to the list. Funny, I thought that since my Roku is so old (Rev A, bought in June 2004) and it hadn't yet failed that I was going to get lucky.... WRONG!

So Burkhardi, is Pyramid still doing repairs? :D I couldn't find the post where you laid out the different repair options they provide...

Figured I would throw out my 2 cents. Matt / Pyramid have done very well by me. I have had one PS/Motherboard unit fixed and one Motherboard only/Morex fix. Even had an intermittent issue that they worked through with me and refunded my multiple return shipping fees.
