I've been trying to add and supplement station entries (mostly for US broadcast stations) in the Radio Roku database ever since I got my first Roku unit, but I notice that there are literally thousands of additional stations available online (many of these in the US) that aren't yet in the Radio Roku database.
Examples of all the available stations are in a number of online directories such as:
http://www.thestreamcenter.com/pagestate.asp (sorted by state)
http://streamingradioguide.com/radio-st ... -state.php?
http://www.billsparks.org (has a state-by-state menu)
Noticed that the online databases for other internet radios (like Reciva, etc.) have quite a few more active station entries than the Roku database. Was thinking that our Roku radios would be the most useful to everyone and the Roku community might expand nicely to more new users if it became generally known that the Roku database is complete (or close to it) regarding US broadcast stations (making Roku more of a plug-and-play-everything situation for new US users). Of course the same type of effort could take place in any country/countries.
Most of my interest in stations is based on only a few US states (my hometown state and neighboring states, the state where I live now, and a couple of others where I sometimes vacation). Thought I would try to go through the various online directories listed above and get every station from those states into the Radio Roku database and fully up-to-date. Was wondering if any other US Roku users might have similar interest (maybe even only in the one state where they currently live) in a concerted effort to divvy up entries, such as by state, to try to get the entire US completed (with all audio urls accurate). If 50 people each took one state, it would be a snap.
Just thought I'd throw this out there to see if there was any interest...
