Defective products

Fri May 20, 2011 11:34 am

I purchased my first R-1000 for $400. I set all 18 channels to classical stations worldwide. It sounded great, for a few months, then died. You replaced it with a "demonstrator" R-1000 which you assured me was superior, but I now wonder: was this a used product as opposed to new? Because it too died shortly past warranty. You emailed me instructions on reviving it, none of which worked. Finally you admitted it was broken and suggested I purchase a replacement for $75. But how do I know it will not also die around warranty expiration time? I have other radios that are still going fine after 20 to 25 years of use. Is the R-1000 inherently defective? Would I be better advised to purchase the Logitech internet radio in lieu of another R-1000? Why is it not possible to speak with a live person in your organization? Does your firm outsource technical support to other countries?
