Doesn't work on Roku Ultra either in the USA. Works on the smart app on my LG OLED and works on my Xbox One X. Definitely just a Roku related issue, though I can't say which company is responsible for breaking it. Would hope it gets fixed soon, kind of defeats the purpose of my Roku. All other apps on the Roku work fine for HDR as well, just not Amazon.

My money is that Amazon is responsible, not Roku. Since HDR works on all other channels that offer it (Vudu, YouTube, Netflix) I can't see how it would be Roku.

Could be, though I have a number of issues since version 8 came out and subsequent updates. Numerous crashes after going many months with none. Audio cutouts in Netflix. YouTube hangs and crashes almost daily. Was having a 4k auto detect problem with my LG OLED C7 TV (Kept coming up with 4k 30 instead of 4k 60-manual set at 4k 60 would work fine), but that cleared up a couple of updates into 8.1. Constant slow downs, not network, but processing (hangs when pressing remote keys, etc.). Have to reboot 4-5 times a week to keep it from slowing down to a crawl. I only have about 50 channels installed and always fully exit each channel before going to the next. These are identical issues on my both my Roku Ultras. Smart TV and One X do not exhibit any of these issues. I have always been a die hard Roku fan, hopefully things improve with channel developers or Roku, whoever it is.

While recent RokuOS versions/builds most certainly have their share of significant problems and issues, and should be disclosed/acknowledged/fixed, the AP "HDR missing again" issue is on Amazon's shoulders, not Roku's, though it is in Roku's interest to help sort it out, as it is their high-end HDR-capable products primarily affected and whom suffer "technical flaw impression" hit, since the recent "missing-HDR" situation is almost entirely just impacting Roku devices.

Best thing to do is maximize pressure on both, but particularly on Amazon:

Thanks for the email addresses. I did send notes to both about it. I agree, it is likely not the Roku per se, other than they may have changed something in how HDR is handled and the Amazon app was not compatible in how it is handling HDR and can't detect it is on an HDR capable device. That has happened on other platforms. Sometimes the platform makes a correction and sometimes it requires the app maker. Hopefully someone makes a correction. I remember when the One S first came out Vudu broke for 4k after initially working. MS made a change in how it was handled and Vudu could not detect it was 4k capable. In the end Vudu had to make an update and MS worked closely with them to get it done.

I have not seen the HDR issue yet on my TCL 55P605, but what version of the Prime Video app is everyone currently on? I ask, because I saw that the Prime Video app was updated on my two (2) TCL Roku TV's in the last 24 hours. Previous version was 10.0. Updated PRIME VIDEO versions are below. I didn't have the HDR issue before, but I also tested with the updated version on my 55P605 and still can see and stream PRIME VIDEO HDR content.

PRIME VIDEO APP (TCL 55P605) - HDR / DV Support
Version 10.1 build 2018070916

Same Version of PRIME VIDEO app, but different build number on my TCL 32S301. But, that only supports 720P / SD, so HDR support is not an issue.

PRIME VIDEO APP (TCL 32S301) - 720P Support
Version 10.1 build 2018062817
TCL Roku 55P605 | VIZIO SmartCast SB3651‑E6 Soundbar
TCL Roku 32S301

I've seen on the AVR Forums site that Amazon released a new channel today, and HDR has been restored. I haven't checked my 2 HDR capable players yet, but multiple people reported it was there again.

My Sharp Roku TV has Amazon HDR again. Haven't checked the Ultra yet but from all reports is should also be restored. About time, Amazon!

Yep back in mine too. Both my Ultras work again. Thanks Amazon or Roku or both.

Can I ask, all you guys saying it’s working, are you in the US? It’s not working for me on my Streaming Stick+ in the UK...

Re: location

There is a place on each user’s profile for a location. If everyone would start using this, it would be beneficial to others. Knowing something discussed is UK-specific might be very helpful for someone, for example.
