New Hulu interface is so bad.. If you agree

And search for "Roku user interface".. You can vote on the subjects that pop up.

Please let Hulu know you feel the same way!

I went there last night and gave detailed negative feedback.

Lots of scathing feedback at the following link. Most of it is on the mark and well-deserved.

Go ahead and vote, but don't expect much. I saw that site before, and posts have been complaining about this since at least May. Hulu is not going to back pedal.

FWIW, I don't believe there is a SINGLE person (other than the designer) that likes it. The most positive thing I have seen said about it is that it "looks pretty, but...".

Agreed, on both counts. I'm usually very forgiving of UI changes, because generally they're just design elements. But the new Hulu is very difficult to use well, and doesn't seem to give anyone what they want.

Worse than a bad UI - streaming fails entirely for me now. Also thumbnails and images don't even load.

Oddly enough it seemed more responsive than the previous iteration, which was very sluggish... but at least it played media.

Background images load about 50% of the time for me. Are there still thumbnails? I haven't seen any. Maybe the new app is even worse than I thought.

On second thought, thumbnails do load for one of my profiles in the My Stuff folder. I wasn't thinking of those because they're just subfolders now that drill down into another complicated layer when trying to play a show or get at the episodes list.

You're proven wrong. I much prefer this over the previous one. I had this interface on Amazon Fire TV, which I only use as a backup device, but I did use Hulu on AFTV because I so hated the Roku interface. Now Roku has finally gotten the interface I prefer.

Hulu should have 2 apps.  1 for OnDemand and 1 for Live.
The reason Terrarium TV is crushing KODI is because of STN - Simple Thumbnail Navigation.
Would love to roll back the Roku firmware that still has the Older/Better Hulu UI.

My generation 3 Roku2 4210 still has the old interface even though the app updated yesterday. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Note---Roku firmware version is irrelevant. It's the Hulu app version that counts. Both my Rokus have the same firmware but different Hulus. Age of hardware seems irrelevant as well, because my 5yo Xbox 360 has the new (and very, very, slightly better...you have to look deep to see the difference) version.

For years (and even now) people knock on apps/boxes with "simple" interfaces, saying they're outdated or representative of a more basic/less powerful system. Hulu must have heard that and said, "Oh yeah? Watch this!" I understand where they're going with programming suggestions and this type of interface - they're hoping to be the "go-to" app for people who don't yet know what they want to watch. In the process, they've made something both ugly AND hard to use.

It's entertaining to monitor Hulu's user feedback forum as more and more customers discover the new app. Negative votes are outnumbering positive votes by thousands to one, literally. I predict the media will pick up on it soon and give Hulu lots more unwanted attention.

Hadn't used Hulu since the "upgrade" a few days ago; my other-half went to watch something and after five minutes of not getting anywhere, I was told to just dump it.
So, bye-bye Hulu. . . somehow I doubt they'll notice.

I agree, as do the Android app users and just about everyone else it seems. Rather than add another voice to the hulu.uservoice.com fourms, I asked Hulu. The new interface is staying and there's a good chance you will be unable to retrieve your Watchlist. Here's how the conversation went*. Emphasis is mine and "XXXXXX" represent my profile.

There's no point in belittling the support guy, he's on a script and just trying to make a living. Aim higher.
