Mon Dec 18, 2017 8:09 am

Not entirely sure what you are trying to do here, but you can't "use Roku on your computer", that's not the design of the product.  The Roku plugs into a TV.

No, Roku firmware/OS is only available on Roku Steaming Devices and TVs. Not a public firmware.

It's been a while since i've used Windows, but the app you're talking about was just a remote if i remember right, similar to the app on phones, there isn't one for linux that i know of.

But why would you want to? Almost everything for Roku is available for streaming on a computer or phone anyway.. Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Vudu, Spotify, Pandora, etc.. don't understand why you'd want to run a Roku virtual machine on Linux ..
Yeah, I got some Rokus.

Correct.  The app in the Windows Store is nothing more than a remote for your Roku device.

No though the Roku supports Miracast so you can try the Ubuntu Miracast packages .. but I doubt they will work.
Note: You can use the following remote control web app from Linux.  I actually use it from a very old Blackberry which I use as my Roku remote as I like having a full keyboard with my Roku remote.

Roku 3 for Pokémon TV / YouTube
PC / Chromecast for all other media because Roku Mirroring sucks and and the every day re-authenticating via PC required with the Roku.
