So my Roku  just auto updated to this firmware.. is this a good thing?
Anyone know what it adds or fixes? does it fix the Purple screen HDCP bug?

I got it too. Haven’t noticed anything different.

There’s still the bug where video OSDs are off center and fall off the screen a few pixels, which is annoying.

I noticed after updating to 4069 that Netflix previews are not causing a black screen after each selection.  I don't know if this is an improvement in 4069 or a change  in Netflix, but it is certainly a better  experience with the Roku auto display feature.

Fantastic! I haven't received this update on my Roku 4 yet. Can I ask you if the massive stutter issue with 25p (BBC and other overseas) content has been fixed?

No it doesn’t. The black screen is still there.

Didn't expect the 2160/30/SDR issues would be fixed.  So I guess its reassuring that ROKU didn't get it fixed.  What they broke in this regards from V7 to V8 is still BROKEN.....

Why are you still here?  That said. . . everyone needs to dutifully test this out thoroughly and report back (before I let my Roku SS+, which works a treat at 4K HDR 60, update).

Why am I still here?

Cause I own a ROKU and ROKU can’t fix the FW they broke and I'd like the product I bought from them to work as they said it would.

Why are you here?  Did you want to lend support to my request to return to V7 firmware?

No v7, but my Ultra just got an update to 8.0.1 4069 to...

8.0.1 4042.

If this becomes a trend, you may get your wish. FWIW, I've not experienced any significant issues with 4096 or 4042 the last time on either my Ultra (to HD TV via receiver) or Premier+ (to non-HDR UDH) .

Well I checked again and this time I saw the black screen again:(.  However, I also noticed that it had been "updated" to an older firmware (404x?) so I no longer have 4069.  I'm not convinced either way whether or not the black screen was fixed in 4069 but I'm hopeful that there will be a future update that has it fixed.

Your screen shot has a firmware ending in 69, not 96.. just to clarify.
