YouTube TV not found

Wed Mar 28, 2018 6:31 pm

I am trying to download YouTube TV and I am not finding it anywhere.  I have a Roku 1, Model 2710X.  I find nothing telling me if there is a certain model required to be able to use it.  I can log into Roku on my computer and add the channel but when I refresh, it just keeps giving me the option to add the channel.  Please help!

I believe you need at least a Roku 3 or newer.. the Roku 1 is much slower than a Roku 3 (or newer).
Yeah, I got some Rokus.

fyi if you do get it for the time being if your tv is hdr capable you'll need to change one setting. roku auto detects the display type. it will give you the hdr option if your set does that BUT there is a problem with the software for this one channel. the video playback bug drove me up a wall for several weeks until another user mentioned the fix.

just go to settings, uncheck auto select display type. then e.g. if your set is 4k 30hz hdr chose the option without that last bit. otherwise the video output is painful to watch, jerky, etc. after doing that youtube tv plays just fine on the roku. only pain is that for other channels that hdr works fine with, you'll need to switch settings back and forth until they fix the ytube tv bug.

have a good one! :D
