Re: [Official] OS 9.1 Release Notes

Been having navigation issues for a couple weeks now. Which coincidentally(?) I think coincides with an update I've been hearing about. Can get to some stuff and then it plays okay, usually, but getting to an icon that is live not frozen can take a long time -- like half an hour or so, or just seem impossible so I give up. Issues are locking up requiring back arrow or home key to get out of stuck state also some times a skipping many icons in whatever direction you were trying to go. Tried rebooting, pairing, unpugging for a half day, all somewhat hopelessly as it seems a software issue. I feel like this has happened before ( though maybe not as bad, though I might think it's worse because I really wanted to use it), and that it cleared up on it's own eventually but this seems like this major problem that has been going on for a while now. Roku2, (I want to say 2700x, but don't hold me to it...) wired, radio style remote (point anywhere not on wifi network), hdmi or RCA (composite?) connectors but not both at same time (as I had been hoping).

Turns out old batteries can cause problems that some people confuse with software problems. Luckily there are these things called "new batteries" can fix these issues completely. Ahem. Working so far...

The 2 XS is ancient, and really isn't a reliable player any longer. I have one, and it's been shoved into a drawer for a couple of years. I strongly suggest you consider a replacement. You will be pleasantly surprised how much better the newer players are.

I hope the latest updates will correct my problem of my Live Feeds dropping out after 10 to 12 minutes, this is so frustrating

I think we dreamed there'd be a firmware update.  So in your dreams you can dream it'll be perfect.   And if you get the connection I'll send you a dehydrated beer in the mail and you just have to add water.

I believe the 9.1 firmware caused the 24p adaptive display function to stop working on the Netflix app. Other apps such as Amazon prime video, HBOgo and Hulu aren't affected. Please address this in a further revision.

Probably for the best since the main auto preview triggered the switch in the UI which kind of broke the browsing experience.

I just received the 9.1 update on my Roku Ultra tonight. The Fox News Channel was acting funny, so I went into Settings to check for updates and it asked if I wanted to restart to perform the update to 9.1, so I did. After it restarted, I went to check for updates in settings again, and there were a few channel updates. I had to sign into my TV provider again when I opened the Fox News channel after the update.

Why is Roku kicking me out of my live channels after a period of time??????? We've asked in other areas and been ignored. The voice leveling also is screwed up, does little more than throw voices out of sync.

So here we are in June.... whatever happened to that AirPlay 2 support? Weren’t we also looking forward to some better google home integration as well?

Don’t drop the ball on interoperability. I’d hate to see roku stagnate, so much potential is wasting away.

Was never officially announced by Roku, was a rumor posted on Tech News sites. blog.roku.com will officially announce new features.

I don't want any new functionality, what I want is what I own to work properly, I should have stick with the stick instead of the Ultra I just bought, I'd LOVE to watch more than 15 minutes of live youtube without being tossed out to the main window ROKU!!!!!!!!!

Roku 3900 X immediately reverts to 'Automatic' after I override the bitrate manually. I have a limit of 300 GB per month, so must reduce streaming rate. Prior to recent system update to 9.1 (June 6,7, 2019) this setting was retained until power cycled. Older unit also reverts to Automatic, will not hold manually entered bitrate. Hidden 'Engineering' feature or not, I NEED THIS!
