The new FireTV Cube has great specs, will Roku respond?

Sun Sep 08, 2019 7:13 pm

I have the newest Roku Ultra and it's pretty much had the same specs from the 2016 and 2017 Ultras.  Will Roku be launching a new Ultra box with better internals in the near future to compete with the new Cube?

There's another post of a newly issued FCC ID for a new Roku product. The details are covered under a confidentiality release date, so we can't determine what it might be. The only detail I could get from the FCC documents is that it will support Bluetooth, although how we don't know. Hopefully it's for the remote and perhaps connecting BT headphones or speakers. That would eliminate some of the WiFi interference issues that Roku causes with using WiFi direct for their remotes.
.
Roku never announces news about upcoming product specs until they're ready for release. But this is the typical time of year for a new product announcement.
