A lot of internet radio feeds are in .wma format and I don't think Roku has any plans to support that format :(. However there are TONS of .mp3 feeds :).

WMA are supported in the SDK.

Streaming wma is supposed to work. There's even an example in the SDK.
Roku2 XS (13A166000325) HDMI to LG 42" LCD 1080p (42LH30)
Roku XDS (K0A073000137)
Netgear WNDR3400 (all Rokus wireless)
25 Mbps

That's what I thought. I've never actually checked though.

The example in the SDK is for playing (fixed length) WMA files. Playing (continuous) live streams is a completely different matter. The live streaming example is for an MP3 stream (most likely served by an IceCast server).

So Roku presumably have licensed the codec, but the box isn't compatible with (at least some) streaming servers.

Also I'm bummed that the Radio Margaritaville MP3 stream seems to have gone away

There should still be an MP3 or AAC stream available as on their website they use a Flash based MP3 player and IIRC Flash doesn't support WMA.

Can't seem to get Sports Talk WEEI(Brighton, MA also 95.9) to work . All other stations I've tried work fine.

Playing on the PC, that looks to be an AAC stream, which the Roku doesn't support.

I found a link for the mp3 stream:

I go back to ROKU and i can see RADIOTIME as an optin. I click on MY PRESET stations and its blank.

How do i get ROKU to understand i have preset stations waitng on RADIOTIME ?
i never saw a code anywhere.
Please a true STEPbySTEP would be helpful.

Thanks again nowhereman... I have to tell you, since you put out the RadioTime channel for the Roku, my radio stations on-line listeners has gone up noticeably! I have no other explanation for this, as it has happened only in the last week. It shows up in my local stations, and under classic rock. I dont have a RadioTime account on my computer, so the Roku has all the needed info on its own. Im lovin it! Thanks!
Check out my 'Classic Rock' radio station...
It's sugar free, fat free, and commercial free!

Go to Settings in Radio Time on the Roku. Click on Link Player and you'll see a code and directions on where to go on the Radio Time website.

THANK YOU but
it worked as far as your instructions went but it doesn't work
i had to scroll right until i found SETTINGS
and even then once i got the code i went back to RADIOTIME
and when i typed it in it said it was INVALID.
It does show up through ROKU however it says its not supported.
Yet it works just fine on a computer.
Somehow i think its still not right.

I have not read this entire forum, but I am wondering if you can help me out with something. On the RadioTime channel WHYY does not load. I get that this happens to a lot of people. No problem I can wait until we figure it out. However, when I load it in the PodTV channel it loads just fine.

Thoughts?

WHYY works fine for me in the radiotime channel. http://radiotime.com/station/s_29485/WHYY-FM_909.aspx

now this is something that should be in the channel store......this is nice. Not a huge fan of Pod TV, it's a little redundant with Mediafly but man, this Radiotime channel, this is good.

btw, regarding Pod TV, just my virtually worthless opinion, I understand a lot of people disagree with me and love it.
