spontaneous arbitrary reboots since 2.7

Mon Sep 20, 2010 12:50 pm

did a quick search and did not see this mentioned, since I got 2.7 on 9-18-2010 for the n1000 I have arbitrary reboots during menu movements in netflix.
don't really use it for anything else so not sure if its just netflix related or not.
unit is well ventilated and never had any issues prior to this.

I experience a reboot yesterday on the same model....when I came back to the home screen Netflix channel is gone? Went back and reloaded it thru the channel store it took me back to the channel store. I went back to my channel and deleted a couple of channel maybe it will resolve it and it did. I think is just Netflix side of it....I assume this is typ.

I have the same problem in all three (3) Roku Boxes. All connected via ethernet (>20 meg/sec). I've tried resetting the boxes, switching wires, etc. Seems to happen if the box hasn't been used for a couple of hours. Once it reboots all is fine. Until the next period of inactivity. Very annoying.

even with version 2.8, all three boxes still have the reboot problem.

I also have this problem on both of my boxes since 2.7. After a period of inactivity, I bring the unit out of sleep and enter Netflix, Amazon, Channel Store, etc. and the unit will crash and reboot 100% of the time. I am also hardwire ethernet.

I'm having a similar issue. I didn't notice it until I updated to 2.8 yesterday, but I've now had two separate incidents where I've paused a video in Netflix long enough for the screensaver to kick in (using the 10 minute default screensaver timeout) and pressing a button causes the system to spontaneously reboot. It doesn't lose my place in the video once I relaunch Netflix, so it's only a minor annoyance, but it's still irritating. My HW version is 2100X according to the Player Info screen...

Yes, I have an HD and an XR both hardwired. Before 2.7 no problems. After a period of inactivity they will reboot. After the reboot they work flawlessly. Tech support knew nothing about this when I contacted them about 2 weeks ago.
