Thanks to everyone that participated in the contest by producing channels and by trying them out and rating them. And of course, a big thank you to Roku and the judges. I do plan to add more games to Video Poker, so stay tuned.

Humbly yours,

Boy I must be WAY out of the norm as not a single one of the winners is a ch I have the least bit of interest in.

While the winners are clearly well written I would feel better about the judging process if at least one of the winners had some value for me.

I would hope that those that did not win will continue to work when they can on the chs they wrote and produce more.

We need more, not fewer, developers working to keep this great little box evolving.

I do find it almost incomprehensible that a game rather than a useful video or audio ch won overall. After all the Roku is first and foremost a video/audio player.

It is kind of like a small horse that looks like a Great Dane winning best of show at Westminster.

Well, what DO you have an interest in? Let any developers here know what you did appreciate, and they may bring more of that.

Here's the thing; It's fairly easy on the Roku to put out a video or audio app if the content is supported. It takes some more skill to do it well, but in general the hard stuff was already made fairly easy by Roku. Video Poker clearly eschewed this and went for the harder goal, to use the capabilities technically present but much harder to implement to create something that was much more interactive.

If you look at it simply as a game, and one you may have no interest in, then it's not very impressive. If you view it as the beginning of a new set of possible channels, it's clearly got a lot more weight.
