It would be really great if Roku would pair with Dish network to have a channel for 'Dish Online' similar to Netflix. Those of us who are Dish network subscribers and have a Roku would love to watch the content on the Roku vs. having to watch 'Dish Online' on a pc. Is this a possibility in the near future?

You should make this request to Dish network.

No, because the online service has a lot of other listings and back shows. Similar to hulu. Take a look at WWW.dishonline.com and you will see what I mean.

All these fringe type things are why I have a PC permanently connected to my TV. I use an Acer Aspire Revo and it works pretty well for streaming web stuff. You have to wire it, because if you use the wireless the processor chokes a bit, but it does the job for stuff that isn't available via Roku. Plus it runs Boxee really well, and I have it setup to automatically download the shows I want to watch via bit torrent.

In my opinion, the only way a Dish Online channel would be truly valuable to Roku users is if Dish Network was to make their Dish Online service a totally separately purchasable service. Researching it, it appears the Dish Online service's premium content is not made available to you unless you are a subscriber to Dish Network's satellite service at a cost of $39.99 per month ($479.88 per year) plus tax, minimum. There is some free content made available to non-subscribers, but it appears the free content is actually provided by Hulu (classic, not Hulu Plus) and not by Dish Network themselves.

I just chatted online with Dish support. They said they have no current plans to add it to Roku and I told them that it could be a win/win for them and Roku. If we all send a request and innundate them, maybe we can get somewhere.

I just submitted a request. However, I just realized that Dish has little to gain. What it might mean to them is the loss of additional receiver fees. Personnally I see it as a competitive advantage, but Dish seems to be headed down the dark path of the "greedy cable pigs".
