web cams?

has anyone done, or thought of doing, a web cam channel?
is it possible?

You would need webcam software that streams, over the network, a compatible format stream. I'm sure it exists, I just don't know if anyone's ever put together a channel.

There are private channels for Justin TV, Livestream, and Ustream.

But those require a webcam to be broadcast TO the internet first, then sent back over the internet to the Roku. A local solution is totally possible, given the right software.

it depends what kind of "webcam channel" the OP is talking about. Being able to view a local-network attached camera, like a baby cam, etc., that could be done if the cam broadcasted using hls. If he's talking about a Skype-like channel, the Roku just is too limited in its abilities to handle that.

I meant a channel using the Roku to tap into the web cams like one can see using the PC.

I was just fixing to post a question about this. We were thinking about hooking the computer with a webcam to the tv for Christmas, and I was thinking it would be cool if the Roku had a channel for this.
