I doubt he's mailing anything. When you list on ebay, you have to choose a delivery method, either Fedex, USPS, UPS, or local pickup. There is no choice for "digital delivery". Plus, as a fixed-price listing, offering free "expedited shipping" he can get a break on the final value fee at times with different promotions ebay offers at times.

from what i can tell from the prices listed, the reviews and some people on the roku facebook page who had inquired about the listing and posted it on the fb page - what the guy is selling is the service of setting up the proxy account and billing info for USTVNOW on the USTVNOW website for the roku user who doesn't know how.
i suspect his ratings are going to crash soon since USTVNOW doesn't seem to work inside the US for most roku users anymore

Here's a question I sent him earlier this evening:

Dear electronics4515,

"this is a list of services you can add to your roku box"
So this is a list of Roku private channels? What makes it different
from all the other free lists on the web?

Here's his answer:

This is mainly about the locals channels for free and how to add them plus there are bonus links incluced also thanks!....john

What a professionally written, polite and informative e-mail John sent you! Can't say I am surprised by the shoddiness of that e-mail.

Humm...just checked his ebay listing again. Says he's sold 41 so far. At 25 bucks a pop he's $1000 to the good already. Not a bad return...

Advertising pornography *is* against ebay's terms of use you know, I hope nobody's finger slips and that pesky "report item" link gets clicked...

darn it, that almost makes me envious... i've only got $54 in google adsense revenue since november so far - since they don't pay out until $100 i might get a check this summer if i'm lucky.
i suppose if the market will bear it and he's not actually scamming people then he's just got a good thing going. but i feel like this sort of thing is what may eventually put some people off roku
i see comments on the facebook page all the time where people are complaining about "the fees for every little thing" * and someone who doesn't know better and thinks that you have to pay this fee to get private channels might start bad-mouthing roku over it

*fees for "every little thing" usually turning out to be pay per video on amazon or hulu plus membership

You should add a PayPal link to your site for donations... You put a lot of time and effort into that, and I, as a channel developer, really appreciate it and would definitely donate.

good thing i'm not in it for the money. and thanks, i appreciate the thought. but there's already a donation link on the page that i'd prefer people use. i volunteer with a rescue for abandoned/feral cats. if people donated to me i'd just spend it on rescue kitty vet bills or feral spay/neuter costs anyway and if you use the link that's already there you get a tax deductible receipt. everyone likes a tax deductible receipt
on my to do list: make a roku channel of videos of kittens from the rescue. all kittens, all the time. there's got to be a market for that!

Dailykitten.com seems to be doing well with the cat a day approach.

Ebay used to have a porn section. I remember because when I sold my video games it tried to put them there when I entered the age restriction. I'm not sure how I got there exactly. If this guys listing got moved there he'd lose his prominent listing.
