Fave TV

Not sure about the price, but this is pretty cool. Would be great on Roku. https://favetv.com/

$33 per their website. That's close to basic cable. Seems pricey unless it has the same MLB that's 24.95 by itself on Roku.

So then with all the sports channels (https://favetv.com/channel-lineup/) this should be a steal for Roku users if they were to come to Roku.

Sounds like another service that's oddly skirting copyright law. As soon as you see professional sports leagues being offered, you can be sure it's not on the up-and-up.

Tagline at the bottom of the page is Sky Angel, the religious satellite network. Its fairly hard to imagine why they would offer just the streaming part on Roku at this point, when they are trying to sell stb, antenna/converter of some sort and programming as a full package. It is an interesting development though....

https://favetv.com/family-values-entertainment/.....It is all streaming, and I would hate to think that Skyangel is doing something wrong.

Not much to watch if you like movies. :)

That press release makes it look like they're selling online access to the same kind of channels Roku offers. So in addition to the fees you pay them, you likely ALSO have to pay MLB, etc. if you're looking for that material.

Seems to me like a Roku is much cheaper for the same content...

... but it's all wrapped up in a comforting spiritually approved package - that's gotta be worth the extra bucks, surely?

Unless you're a copyright lawyer who has studied this site please take your wild speculation somewhere else. Did you even look at their site? There is no way I would sign up for this service but upon review of the site there is nothing to suggest they are "oddly skirting copyright law."

I posted that before seeing that they seem to be offering a lineup of channels akin to what Roku offers. That said, IANAL, but I work with copyright law every day in my profession, and I'm very, very familiar with how it works. Believe me when I tell you that if some no-name company you've never heard of is offering broadcasts of sports leagues, there's something amiss.

Fave TV just resale Sky Angel service. You will get a set top box from Sky Angel. So Fave TV is not web TV.

Well, 200.00 for the box, the 33.00 a month... and only 5 potential channels that I would watch. Seems that they have some broadcast nets (Ion Life and Qubo), but do not offer METV, antenna TV or RTV as the other broadcast nets. TV land is also not on there. They have too limited of a "family" package.

This is the same exact package as 5-6 years ago, when I looked into them, to replace my cable.

It's simply a new marketing gimmick, to get the "non-church" people to look at them. "Sky Angel" might not resonate well with atheist and other religions. It's the same IPTV it was before. Not impressed still.
Cut the US TV TAX... Stop Cable TV! The FCC doesn't need anymore of my monies! I don't need anymore watching restrictions/channels pulled, due to YOUR OWN money arguments with stations!
