Roku HD channel capacity

Wed Jun 20, 2012 8:42 pm

Hello.

I just purchased a Roku HD from E-Bay.

I went thru the setup process, and tried to add Hulu Plus, and it said I was out of space in the Channel Store.

What is the storage space available on the HD? I only had 9 channels installed. I did remove about 3 channels that I don't watch very often and Hulu Plus finally installed.

The unit did not seem to have anything on it in the first place, requested that I activate it when I set it up, and did a couple of software updates and is now working.

6 or 7 channels seems like a very small number of channels unless that is just what I can expect from the HD. I mainly got it to add the ability for Hulu Plus to my TV
because my Apple TV does not have Hulu Plus.

Thanks in advance.

Glen

I'd advise doing a hard reset (hold down the reset button for 30 seconds), then re-link it to your account. I have a feeling you'll be able to add far more channels.

Thanks,

I will try that tomorrow.

I found out it's a [ 1 ], 2000C is the hardware version, so, 64MB of channel memory which is the same amount of channel memory my other N1000 Roku has which had more channels than that.

So, a reset it is!

Thanks!

^ Yes, it should store 20 or 30 channels, depending on the channel mix.

Ok, Update.

I did a Factory Reset. I did not see a button, but, used the menu option for Factory Reset.

I still have the same issue. I cannot add more channels. Is it possible that there is something wrong with this unit, and that might be the problem with why it was being sold as used on E-Bay?

Is it possible for there to be such a problem with a unit?

Any additional help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Glen

Glen, look on the bottom of the device. There should be a small hole in the lower right hand corner of the label area that says reset. Hold that in for 30 seconds.

Hi Glen--------------

something else I noticed about the roku 1's many times if you try to add a channel from the roku channel store on the box it will give you the "not enough memory" notice -- but adding them from the channel store on the computer or from another roku on your account will work. Why, I don't know - but I have gotten into the habit of loading new channels on one of my LT's now and very seldom see the "not enough memory" message when I go to my roku 1 and watch the channel
