TV provider not listed

Thu Jan 30, 2014 3:58 pm

I am trying to link the history channel app on my roku HD with my cable provider. However when I go to the history.com/authorize site, and it asks me to choose my tv provider, time warner cable is not listed. Help?

There's not much anyone can do until they (TWC and A&E Networks) partner up. You could change ISPs to one of the others, but that's not really what you're wanting to do, I assume.

Thanks for the feedback. Funny thing, I can get A&E on my roku no problem!

A&E, History, and Lifetime channels are all by A&E Networks. I'm surprised they don't all work the same.

i also have TWC (internet only) and can access the free, unlocked content on both history and A&E - maybe that's what you are seeing on A&E? or did it actually let you register on the A&E channel?

I do not recall registering A&E, but I can get all the content on A&E, but not on History.

Bumping a dead thread, what a GREAT first post. :)

Googling brought me here, in a vain attempt to solve the same dilemma. It's not looking promising.
.
Out of curiosity, I have TWC cable in addition to their internet. Therefore; I have the "free" ability to watch the TWC channel. History and A&E are within the TWC channel. Can anyone answer whether A&E and History channels have more shows on their private channels, than within the TWC channel?,

PS- You may or may not get a TWC ID with just their internet package. (I'm thinking you would, since it's usually identical to the email address they provide.) If so, you too could be watching the TWC channel, which includes the above channels. Then would make sense out of why this provider still hasn't fixed their site for TWC people.
