No thanks. I can watch Netflix 4k via my tv or roku 4 all day without buffering even once. Type me out a fresh "cop out" for why sling tv only offers 720p-ish streams in the year 2015.

Aside from this article, Sling is killing themselves with crappy service.. I have 100 down and 10 up and sling buffers, gets blank screens ect... Going to dump it after this month and hope something else that actually works comes along..

Higher quality than anything dish has to offer, let's call it 900p. People like you are the reason nothing is moving forward, you accept getting shat on and ask for more.

Let's call it what it is: 720p or 1080i. I'm done with you now.

I used to have many buffering problems with Sling, but their latest update solved most of them (possibly due to now pausing the feed when the channel bar is up). But I have noticed that ff through commercials in on-demand, never an easy task before, is near impossible now. It's almost guaranteed to lock-up if you try to go too fast, and of course if it does it means you cannot go back again without starting over. I'm sure that they did that to discourage commercial skipping.

OTA is not 1080P, at best it is 1080i which is pretty close to 720P. If you do a channel scan of local stations more than likely you will get the major broadcasters at 1080i, a handful of 720P, and a whole bunch of 480i stations.

I have dish and i am testing out sling tv at the moment via roku 4. I personally feel dish is sabotaging their own product to some extent. I can maintain a 15mb/s connection download, watch 4k netflix flawlessly but 720p espn struggles via sling? The connection bar remains stuck at 3/4 bars 3.7mb/s, never going higher. I feel dish purposely makes the quality at or below their dish service. I'm connecting the roku 4 via powerline to my router so the connection is no problem. It just seems to me blu ray or even 4k quality could easily be achieved through sling tv, dish just chooses not to in order to offer the service but not kill themselves. We need a sling tv like service that is unaffiliated.

This is a Roku 4 problem. I don't know if it is Roku itself or Sling's channel software but I have installed at the exact same location via Ethernet an Nvidia Shield and a Roku 3, both stream Sling flawlessly. Roku 4 looks like it is having bandwidth problems. The problem is something to do with Roku 4. Firmware, hardware, channel software I don't know.

Honestly, I've been very please with Sling. I'm always surprised at the complaints I read about it. I'm not saying I've never experienced a problem, but not very often.

My wife loads Sling or USTVNow once in awhile, and I've seen Instances of problems with both. Surprisingly though, USTV seems to have improved to be the more stable one lately (at least as far as our location and limited usage). For example, pause/rewind/ff is (of the live feed and recordings) seems to be practical with USTV now.
