I really wish they would list specs like every other streaming box maker.  Anyway, has anyone read anywhere if there will play x265 files.  And if so, which models?

Also, I can't believe the $80 Premier only includes a "line of site" remote.  Roku is so frugal with bang for buck compared to competitors.

I really wish they'd at least have a single chart with comparisons of what all models will do.  I looked for one to put int he post as a "quick reference" but na-da.
The two top models Premium+ and Ultra have Ethernet.

From what I read the Ultra has a fan but that Roku reworked it to run quieter plus the box is smaller.  I'm glad they offer a model for older TV's. Not offering ether net or USB on the lower tier models is kind of a drag but I guess something had to go to keep the cost down. I already have three Roku's and 1080P  is fine for now but I'm glad to see Roku coming out with a new lineup.

The article was in Business Insider Tech they used the words "reworked the fan to be quieter" for the Ultra which I took to mean that there was still a fan I guess they should have used removed the fan instead. Looks like its been confirmed there is no fan.

There are specs on the product pages.  Either scroll to the bottom or there's a "Specs" link in the band just below the product photo.

Any word on whether the Express model supports Netflix Profiles?

I don't think Roku has sold any models that DON'T support Netflix Profiles in a while. I can't imagine the new units won't all have it.

Where did you read that? There is no fan in any of the five new models.

Not really.  No mention of CPU, ram, storage, what video codec, etc...

Ahh man, that's what I was hoping for with this new announcement.
I liked the Roku 4 but the lip sync issue with Amazon became unbearable -even with my new and improved Denon 2016 receiver.

I was hoping to see some new specs ... perhaps a better engine running the Roku?

The Premiere+ does show that it supports HEVC via the USB...which I would assume applies to streaming, as well.
https://www.roku.com/products/roku-premiere-plus

I would also assume the Ultra has HEVC, as well...but the specs page seems to have a typo in it saying that only the "Roku 4" has HEVC.

If I had to guess...I would imagine only the 4K models (Premiere, Premiere+, Ultra) support HEVC. I would be pleasantly surprised if the Express models did.

I don't believe that there's any 4K streaming in anything other than HEVC and VP9 (YouTube).

If it supports 4K, it will support HEVC. Like mikeyts says, that and VC9 is about the only 4K material out there right now.
