Roku Outage

Tue Oct 18, 2016 9:42 am

Roku is currently experiencing an outage on our backend that affects device linking.  I do not have an ETA on when this issue will be resolved, but we're actively working on it.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

The channel store is back up and running on my Roku TV. Couldn't add a channel earlier but now I just added the EPIX channel to take advantage of the free trial with no cc mentioned in another thread.

I have been trying since 9:00 pm EST on 10/19/16, and I continue to get error code 001.  It was working great, but when I reset it, now I get this error over and over.  I've rebooted all modems, routers, and Roku too many times to count.  Is there possibly still an issue?

We're not seeing this on our end, Derezz.  Contact support, and make sure you get a case number (ask for it before the chat ends).  I can follow-up on the report with the case number, and submit a CS bug report, which will give it a little more oomph during the follow up :).  Also make sure you do everything CS asks you to do, even if you've done it already.  It's necessary for their reports, and helps cut down on the response times.

I've been trying to activate a new roku premiere since last week.  It just goes into an activation loop and eventually says “The website experienced an unexpected problem. There was an unexpected error in the website. The current page will not load. Close and re-open your browser, navigate back to the website, and try repeating your last actions. If the problem persists, please contact our support team. If reporting this error please reference the following url:https://my.roku.comundefined”.  I've talked to Roku Support twice and have reproduced the error with them but they have just told me to try again later.  The case number is 6101834

I've tried activating it on multiple computers/mobile devices as well as on two different networks (mine and a neighbors) with the same result.  I own multiple rokus and this is the first time I've had an issue activating one.

Having the exact same problem. After entering the Linking Code on the website, it takes me to a screen where it supposed to be loading channels to add to my account. It has a Loading Logo that works for a couple of minutes then takes me back to my account page, showing that I dont have any linked devices. Quite frustrating. Called the "support" team and the solution was "to wait"...

I am getting the same issue after resetting my device. I called customer service and she very rudely told me I should never have reset it. Then she tried to remote in to my computer, then said my computer was 'going crazy' and not letting her do anything. It's a new computer and works fine. She also tried to charge me a fee to speak with a Tech in order to get it fixed. Very dissatisfied with ROKU!!!

It sounds like you did not contact Roku Support, but a 3rd party entity.  As far as I know, Roku CS does NOT remote to a user's computer, ever.  1 (888) 600-7658 should be the correct number.

It was a number from the roku fb page. I am still having issues with activation of my device.
