While I submitted a report on some PBS webpage it didnt seem to have any ROku specifics - so I have doubts that its will get to the right place anytime soon

Reproducible 2/2 (once after fresh reboot), most recent 1:22 AM EST

Steps:

• Start PBS app
• Select 'Shows'
• Select 'American Experience'
• Select the 'Tesla' episode
• Once video starts (post ad if ad plays),  player crashes (not just app) within few seconds

App:

• 'PBS Video'
• Version 2.3
• build 24

Device:

• Model: 3100X - Roku 2 XS
• Serial: 13A18K044275
• Software version: 72.0, build 4100-02
• Net Connection: Ethernet (wired)
• A/V output - Analog

Same problem (and same 2XS with 7.2). I reported to PBS and got a reply that they are aware that some Roku users are having problems; no suggestion that a fix is in the works. Reported also to Roku and was advised to do a factory reset on my device; haven't done that yet due to the hassle of reactivating all of my apps.

Same problem here.  Roku crashing after 30s of PBS video. Reproducible 5 out of 5 times.

• Select the Season 4 Episode 8 All Sunchoked Up
• Once video starts (post ad; ad always plays),  roku player crashes (not just app) within few seconds

• Model: 3100X - Roku 2 XS
• Software version: 72.0, build 4100-02
• Net Connection: Ethernet (wired)
• A/V output - HDMI

I have a 2 XS (3100X) running the latest version 7.5 build 4099 and am still having issues.

Anyone seeing these problems on any other device besides Roku-2 XS?

HD and LT not causing the unit to crash but audio continues while it goes back to PBS loading screen -- odd behavior

For those having this problem with pbs videos, try putting the video into your watchlist. Then exit and reenter pbs and play directly from your watchlist. See if this helps. It will use less memory then if you navigate to [shows] then to another category, and then browse around to find a video to find.

Thanks Dale, I will give that a try ... but what an inconvenient workaround, for an app that is already incredibly inconvenient and clunky.  Can Roku please coach the PBS app developer on how to fix this problem?

Your frustration with PBS on the Roku-2 is heard.
Another workaround is to only play the videos from the initial screen.
Or you might be able to play them from the search screen.
