PBS Channel

Sat Nov 12, 2016 6:57 pm

My PBS Channel keeps getting stuck.  Does not happen with any other channels.  Have reinstalled and rebooted.

Yeah, the PBS Roku app is just laughably bad, both its technical design and its user-interface design.  It's been discussed in a couple of other threads. It's possible that there's something about 7.2 that doesn't get along well with the PBS app, but overall the PBS app is so terrible that it seems likely that the problem is with the PBS app (or perhaps with PBS's back-end video servers) and not with Roku.

I have been having the issue where videos will stutter, then freeze, then reset my Roku 2 XS. I also have an issue with the instant replay always going back to the beginning of the video; but this started happening after my box updated to version 7.5.  I created a topic about the bugs I've experienced with version 7.5.

Tried to watch an episode of Masterpiece last night but gave up after three device restarts. Particularly annoyed since my wife gave PBS $60 for the unlimited Passport option but we can't satisfactorily watch anything.

I submitted a bug report myself to PBS and got the response that it's a known problem in 7.2 that is fixed in 7.5.  Which is obviously incorrect, as the problem is still there with 7.5.

Dale,

I'm getting worse issues under 4099 build.  Sometimes the box (3100X)  will completely lockup after either starting a video, or pausing, or exiting a video and trying to browse other available videos in the channel.
Also, still getting the issue where the instant replay always goes back to the beginning of the video

The bug where the InstantReplay button sends you back to the beginning of the video appears to be in the PBS channel itself.

Are these stuttering, pausing problems happening on anything other than a roku-2 xs?
