Ok guys, I'm getting fed up with configuration, so I've bowed down to the altar of knowledge, as I'd like to get off internet radio, and onto my tunes instead on my SoundBridge...

Hardware -
Soundbridge M1001 with current firmware
DLink DSL G624T ADSL Modem router
High grade PC

O/ S = Win2k
Firewall on the PC = Zone Alarm (freebie version)

Firefly is installed and running under the Admin profile, as is Bonjour.
The Router is set to reserve DCHP IPs for the home machine and SB (the only items on the network).

The SB has the correct SSID, and WEP Passphrase.

Through some major futzing with detailed settings on ZA and the Router, I have been able to get Bonjour to identify the SB - but only after the server boots. If the connection drops for any reason, it will not find the SB again.

Even with bonjour finding the SB, the SB cannot find my library, which is correctly configured in Firefly (which is running without error).

I have opened the firefly port on the router, so that should be able to gain access to the SB, and vice versa.

So, all hints, tips and so on would be welcome.

There are other compter products that have "mini firewalls" built into them - like AV software. You have a firewall problem. Something is blocking the ports SB uses. You will need to find it......

If using NAV, disable 'Worm Blocking' and retry. G'Luck!

I'm using AVG as antivirus,

But there is no detailed control I can find for Ports, or anti-worm activities...

I'll dig deeper.

What firewall? are you using AVG firewall as well. If so it is configurable, but very deep.

firewall => settings => configure => applications => edit applications => action (drop box) advanced config => create rule. You could try "allow all traffic"

I'm using Zone Alarm as my firewall...

I've created my trusted zone, with the IP range of my wifi network that all apps related to Bonjour and Firefly have access to, but still no joy...

You can also check your windows log files for additional hints to help identify the problem.

a. right click on my computer and choose manage
b. Under system tools, select Event viewer

Firefly - Under Application viewer, check for entries for Firefly

c. Under Security, check for any entries mentioning the soundbridge or a port being blocked. These entries would have a yellow or red icon.
