M1000 Won't Play Favorites other SB Will

Sat Mar 15, 2008 10:32 am

OK - here's a strange one.

I have 5 Soundbridge's. The M1000 in my bedroom will not play WNYC-FM (an mp3 stream) or Wonderground Radio (a windows stream). Both stations are saved as favorites. Oddly, it will play WNYC-AM (also a mp3 stream).

The other 4 SB's (2 M500's, a M1001, and another M1000) all play these streams just fine. The M1000 in the bedroom is running the latest beta, but I don't think that's the problem because another M1000 (also running the latest beta) plays both streams.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Might be a stupid question, but have you checked that the presets are pointing to the same URL on the two M1000's that exhibit the problem.

Thanks for the fast reply sonic. Since I'm picking stations from the favorites list, which is shared by all the SB devices on my network, I'd have to say yes.

Other ideas?

Software is same across all units? You're saying RR is showing all 5 units properly? (You can control all aspects of each SB from RR?)

There are two M1000's running the latest beta. One plays the streams mentioned in the original post, the other (the one in the bedroom) does not.

Both streams play on the remaining units (2 M500's and 1 M1001) all running the latest non-beta software.

Again - all five machine are accessing the exact same streams via my favorites list. All 5 machines show up fine on my Rokuradio.com site.

Other thoughts?

Since that one unit isn't behaving as expected, I'd try resetting it to factory defaults, and reinstalling its software, and then retesting.

Let's try to startup in safe mode by holding down any button on the remote and plugging the unit into ac power. Try doing a factory restore. This will erase all settings and presets. If that fails, boot into safe mode again, and choose software update. IF your soundbridge supports ethernet, please connect it to ethernet when trying to reinstall the software from safe mode.

It's Fixed with Questions

I did the factory reset and reloaded all of my presets. That fixed it. The m1000 can now stream WNYC-FM, Wonderground Radio, and all my other faves.

Doing the reset cause me to "downgrade" to Firmware 3.44.

Rokulyndon - Do I dare risk going back to the latest beta firmware. If I don't, what am I missing?

Thanks all for the help.
