Great support as always. Worked like a charm.

Now that I'm using iTunes as my music server, I'm wondering if I'll be able to use the new remote application for the iPhone to control music playing on the Soundbridge. I will have to wait for my iPhone to arrive so that I can test it. Has anyone tried that yet?

RokuLyndon,

Would it be possible for you to post a complete changelog that provides details about all the fixes and enhancements since 3.0.44?

Thank you.

I can't get the update

Fri Jul 18, 2008 3:19 pm

I filled out the request to get the update, but it doesn't work. I've rebooted my router, also my SoundBridge. When I try to do a software update it says my software is up to date. Also in the list of MAC addresses that have the 30 minutes to get the software update - nothing there...

Are you using the correct MAC address? 9 times out of 10 problems like this are due to people trying to use the wrong MAC address - the WIRED MAC address must be used if available, even if you connect wirelessly - as per the instructions.

Wrong MAC address - problem solved

Sat Jul 19, 2008 6:54 am

Now I really feel stupid. I have multiple SoundBridge units, have the MAC addresses written down but neglected to recall that I switched two of them around. So I was using the MAC address for the wrong unit!

Problem solved, software now updated, unit works just fine with iTunes 7.7.

Thanks S80_UK!

No problem. Glad you got it sorted - that is the more important thing.

Roku Soundbridge 3.0.52 - Public Beta-Itunes 7.7

Mon Jul 21, 2008 7:23 am

Lyndon - After a frustrating week of trying to downgrade out of Itunes 7.7 and messing with Firefly, I am now back where things were before I foolishly upgraded Itunes. Thanks! That's a mistake I won't repeat...

[quote="RokuLyndon"]We're pleased today to announce a public beta of SoundBridge software version 3.0.52.

Oh you nice people! I "accidentally" upgraded to iTunes 7.7 while transferring my music files from our machine in Phoenix to the one here in Oregon, and all flower broke loose. Thanks to the forums, there was this discussion about 7.7 and, better yet, a FIX! And, with only a bit of effort for one in his 80th year, I was able to get the firmware upgraded. And it WORKED!!

Many thanks to all at Roku for your efforts. I now know just what to do to our two SoundBridges back in AZ when I get back there. Next task: write myself a note reminding me to do this.........
3 SoundBridges, 1 SoundBridge Radio - Phoenix, AZ

Great work, Roku. I updated to itunes 7.7.0.43 and immediately none of my songs would play.

I was so pleased to find out you had already released an upgrade with the fix and it worked beautifully.

I can't live without my M1000. It blasts my music out to the pool area and it's supposed to be 104 degrees in Dallas this weekend! Can't be without music.

Thanks for your support.

It amazes me that so many SoundBridge users who have vast music libraries don't keep their music on a NAS Box that has an on-board music server like Twonky (which is far superior to iTunes).

My own policy is to 'store' my music in iTunes on a second HDD on my PC and update my iPod Touch from there, but then to back-up and indeed play my music library from my 500GB QNAP TS-109 NAS.

I'm what my son calls a "back-up freak" as I tend to have at least 2 copies of everything. I cannot praise too much the 2 programmes used:
"Acronis" and "Second Copy". Better to be safe than sorry, and also not be reliant on iTunes
