I'm new at this. I am setting up a Soundbridge 1001 for the first time. My media server is Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7. I can't figure out how to make my library show up on the Soundbridge. Here's what I've done:

* enabled media streaming in WMP 12
* gone into the streaming options and confirmed that
1) the Soundbridge does show up as a device on the local network
2) that device is allowed access. it is not blocked.

But that appears not to be enough. I've googled around for more info about configuring streaming, and all the articles I find just point out those settings. I must be missing something. Is it obvious to anyone else?

Try rebooting all your devices, starting with the router.

If that does not help, provide us with more information about your set up:

- Router make and model
- How the WMP computer is connected, wired or wireless
- How the M1001 is connected, wired or wireless
- Check that Windows 7 network sharing is on (enabling media sharing in WMP should have done that but worth checking)
- Does the Windows Explorer "Play to" function for a music file work (plays the song on the M1001)

Well it's working fine now! It wasn't last night. Rebooting the Windows machine (turning it off last night and on again tonight) must have made a difference--you were right. Thanks for the help.
