My M1001 (software 3.0.44) works perfectly within my Wifi-home network, but: If the device hat been disconnected from the power supply, it obviously forgets the network key and fails to connect again to the Wifi-router. There's nothing else for it but to insert again the network key.
The strange thing is: If I then cut and directly reconnect the power supply again, the device is getting connected to the rooter without any problem.
The only explanation I have for this: The network key must be stored in a kind of volatile memory so that the information is getting lost after a while. But why can the soundbridge remember other information like language, country etc.? Does anybody know this problem? Is it a general one or a question of setup?

welcome to the forums.

One reason for this behaviour might be that you powered off the SoundBridge without letting it settle down in stand-by for at least 10 seconds.

Hi again,
I have checked this and kept the device for more than 10 seconds in standby mode before I cut off the power supply. But: I had to realize that this strange behaviour (forgetting the network key) only depends on the time the soundbridge had been cut off and not on the time the device had been in standby mode before.

Any new ideas or input for this?

What is the evidence for it being the obvious reason. Failing to connect could be down to other reasons, e.g. poor quality signal, power supply failing; have you eliminated these?

No, quality signal, power supply etc. everything perfect. Other devices (also an older pinnacle soundbridge) are connected perfectly and immediately. Only my ROKU Soundbridge - although it always finds the right router - has to be booted 1 or 2 times again before he finally starts network configuration.

Assuming the Roku unit you mentioned is also an M1001, swap the location of the 2 units but not the power supplies (so the PSUs end up being swapped).

(P.S. to Roku moderator, please ignore my reporting of the above as a bad post, an unintentional result of reporting too many spammers on these forums.)

O.K. Done: But no change!!

So the Problem is still not solved so I try now to describe it a bit more precisely:

The device is connected to the router via WLAN and works perfectly. Then I disconnect the device from power supply - and connect it again.

Now there are 2 possibilites:
1. If I connect it again whithin a few minutes (device still warm): No problem: The soundbridge finds the router, remembers the network key and connects via WLAN
2. If I wait longer (device already cold), the M1001 still finds the router but fails to build up a connection with it. (Connection via LAN: no Problem!)

So who can help me with this - please!?

thanks, that sounds good - but up to now I have not found any possibiliy to switch IP from dhcp to static address....If at all possible: Where do I find it?

O.K. - I managed to switch to static IP.- But no improvement in the described behaviour, sorry...

You could try a reset to factory defaults (warning, you will lose your local presets).

Or accept that you have a unit not behaving quite right but thankfully still working otherwise, and leave it powered on as the designers intended.
