ITunes 11 and Soundbridge M500 - no hope?

Sat Feb 15, 2014 12:58 am

I think I know the answer to this, but I'm hoping for good news...

I just upgraded my mac and wireless router.

I've got my M500 connected to my network and can access internet radio...

But can't see my iTunes library.

I'm running iTunes 11.1.4 and Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9.1

From reading other posts it seems like I'm out of luck and my Soundbridge won't work with it...

Any suggestions?

Has anyone gotten a sound bridge to work with iTunes 11?

Works fine for me, but I'm running on Windows 7. Are the problems you've heard about specific to your OS?

Not sure...it worked great with my old mac, but when I upgraded it lost the signal...I've seen some posts about sound bridge not being compatible with new versions of iTunes, but am hoping for a solution...

I understand that there are other ways to connect iTunes to my stereo in a different part of the house, but what I liked best about the Soundbridge was the graphic interface to be able to pick specific songs, albums, etc without going to the computer...

Well I'm running the latest and it's working fine for me so it doesn't seem like an iTunes problem. What firmware are you running in the M500?

It has the latest software 3.0.44 (not sure how to update the firmware)

I can use internet radio and the sound bridge 'sees' my iTunes library but when I try to connect to my library it says "connection to server failed"

I have the sharing turned on in iTunes preferences...

Am I missing a configuration setting somewhere?

Same issue here. With iTunes 11.1.4.62 on Windows 7 my SoundBridges (firmware versions 3.0.44 and 3.0.52) see the library but don't connect.

Looks as though Apple removed the support for the SoundBridges from iTunes. Maybe the license agreement with Roku ended?

Dupondt, which SoundBridges are you running? I'm running virtually the same versions and it still works fine for me.

iTunes 11.1.4.62
SoundBridge M1001 : 3.0.44
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Hi Bob,

I tested with an R1000 (SoundBridge Radio) running 3.0.44 and an M1001 running 3.0.52. iTunes runs on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

Strangely enough, when I tested again today the SoundBridge could connect to iTunes and play some tracks.

@paperman: Did you check the firewall settings on your Mac?
