Playlists not working

Mon Jun 20, 2005 11:21 pm

I've got my HD1000 up and running and updated to 2.0.34. It finds and plays MP3 files find but I cannot get it to play selections under a WINAMP generated PLAYLIST. It finds the PLAYLIST OK but does not list any songs under it and will not play any of the selections in the PLAYLIST. I've tried both M3U and PLS formats with no luck. Both types work correctly for WINAMP on the PC. They show the list under them and play correctly.

Anyone gotten WINAMP or any other type of PLAYLIST's to work?

Please paste a couple of lines from one of the playlists in a message here. The likely cause is the use of absolute paths in the playlist (Assuming you're playing from a network share rather than a UPnP server). This problem goes away if you use a UPnP server. Otherwise, you'll need to convert your playlists to use relative paths.

Music Applications that make Roku compatible playlists?

Wed Jul 20, 2005 12:55 pm

I have the same problem generating playlists that Roku can interpret. .m3u playlists that I generate with either MusicMatch 9 or WindowsMediaPlayer 10 both generate .m3u playlists that contain absolute path information rather than relative path information. Is there a Windows application that generates playlists that use relative paths? Alternatively, can you suggest an easy way to modify long playlists so they now use relative, rather than absolute paths?

Thanks

I went to www.download.com and did a search for 'mp3 playlist editor'. I got 37 hits. Perhaps one of those will suite you?
