I have just purchased, but have not yet received a HyperDrive HD80, a portable hard drive with a SD card input. Specifications are at http://www.hyperdrive.com/shop/informat ... &info_id=6. I also will be able to transfer files from my computer to the HD80. Will I be able to plug the output of the HD80 into the USB port of the Roku PB and watch a slide show on my HDTV?

No.

The USB port on the Photobridge doesn't support hard drives. Actually doesn't support much of anything. It's only USB 1.1. It's only intended for connecting supported wireless LAN interfaces, doesn't have anywhere near the speed needed to do hi def video.

the only other use i found for the usb port on the photobridge is a source of power for usb powered devices, such as an external usb powered fan that i use for cooling down the photobridge.
