Hey Roku...
We understand and appreciate that you are working on the issue. But do you understand and appreciate how frustrated we are with all of this spam?
Promises that things "are happening" and solutions are "in the works" are in and of themselves good. However, the entire purpose of this forum is for users to help other users. Those with issues have issues now. Not tomorrow, not next week, not next month, not next year, but now. And they need help now. For that reason alone, immediate and effective steps need to be taken. Those "in the works" things still need to continue, but there is an immediate situation that should be addressed.
While this is a great exaggerated, perhaps the point will still be taken: the promise of a sprinkler system being installed in the future doesn't do a whole lot for someone already sitting in the middle of a fire. Those sprinkler systems aren't helpful now. The need is now. And, the thousands of spam posts this weekend should hammer that point home.
Users needing help aren't going to get a comfortable feeling trying to ask questions in a forum inundated by spam. And users that can help have a difficult time finding help posts amidst all the spam. Over the years, I've helped one or two, but the last few months have really been frustrating. While my small contributions haven't been missed, perhaps someone who is very helpful has also shied away from the forum. That would be a shame to users that need help.
Thanks for listening.
