I'm doing a "Decembeer", 31 days, 31 beers, and want some suggestions from beer snobs out there.. I lean towards stouts and Scottish ales, but i'm open to anything unique.

Someone turned me on to the Samuel Smith Brewery a few years back, I like most of the brews I've tried from them:

and then there's Boddington's (I've only had the Pub Ale variety you can get in the states):

The Pub Ale is pale, but tastes very much like a Guinness Stout
You probably won't be able to get this locally, but whenever I went to visit my brother at Ithaca college the Ithaca Beer Company had a few different brews I liked (predominantly Nut Brown and Pale Ale)
