I have the insigna Roku tv. I'm trying to find out if there is anyway to connect use use sling and Netflix or do I have to stay with cable company?

I'm trying to find another way to connect to internet.

Well, you have to have some sort of Internet access to reach those sites. Is cable your only option? Only you can answer that. There certainly are other choices, depending on your location. Cellular, satellite, DSL and fiber are just some options. But not all might be available in your location.

Now if you're asking if the Roku has the ability to connect directly to the Internet by itself, then no. I can only connect to a network that already has access. It can be via wireless, or wired with the correct USB connector. But whatever it connects to must have its own Internet connection.

I've seen 4K YouTube videos in excess of 40 Mbps, but I've also seen them at under 20 Mbps. With Netflix, they top out at 16 Mbps with 4K, and 1080 is usually under 10. Unless you have multiple players streaming 4K all at the same time, 50 should be fine. My DSL bounces between 40-50 Mbps, and I've never encountered any problem streaming.

10 Mbps might be the minimum for 4K, but you can certainly stream satisfactorily with less than that. When I travel, my hotel connection is usually right around 1 Mbps, and I can still watch Netflix or Amazon without a problem with my Roku Stick. Yes, it's most likely only 480, but that's roughly DVD quality. Don't forget, for many years we all considered DVDs state of the art for home video. 

Has anyone done the switch from Comcast crappy router to AT&T....? I just went through this from Comcast cable to AT&T fiber..
And got crappy results, but...after much research, router adjustments, etc., I found the answer. Is this the place to post the "sacred answer"? New here

PS...we are free of Comcast voice and TV and of course internet...plus, no AT&T voice or TV.

Should be no issues posting it here, as long as it's not something that breaks rules you agreed to with AT&T. Of course, your thread title might not be noticed by someone who could benefit from your information. It's a little generic.

It’s all depend on your requirement and usage; means you get the internet connection for which purpose, whether you need just browsing your social media accounts on TV and mobile or you need to watch online HD movies/streaming.
If you are currently satisfied with your current service, this is okay. But if you are not, I have better option for you, try Home Internet Provider Service. Here you can get up-to 150 MB's of internet speed.
