The guy paid good money for his ROKU he can complain all he wants. I actually got a Roku for free but seeing the way the box works I would be a little pissed off too if I paid good money for the thing.

The idea of viewing all of your photos, HDTV content, music, and DVD stored on your computer is a great idea. The problem is that computers are a pain in the ass and this box has some of those characteristics, but flower I got it for free so I shouldn't complain (yet I still do).

P.S. You may now all tell me to sell my ROKU and go troll somewhere else.

The Roku folks have been too quiet for way too long, at least here in the Photobridge forums. Anybody live close enough to their offices to drive by and see if the lights are still on?

It's been over 2 months since the last 2.x Beta and I think it was RokuDan who said several weeks ago that he was all ready to release the next Beta but didn't for some last minute changes.

Lights are still on :D

I will ping one of the developers to update you all.

Thanks for your support and constructive criticism.

Our hd1000 engineers got diverted to another project temporarily, but we still plan to finish up the 2.0 software update.

In the mean time, the Beta release is currently available.

Thanks for your patience and support.

Not to sound like Chicken Little here, but this sounds suspiciously like the folks at Roku are not planing on extensive support for the HD1000 going into the future.

Unfortunately, this statement sounds more like 'we'll tidy up the loose ends, but this is what your gonna get'

RokuShawn, please tell us this isn't so...

I gave up on my HD1000 months ago...

While many might like to tell me to sell my HD1000 to them at some incredibly steep discount I'd like to say that my HD1000 has been disconnected from power and from my network for at least three months. While it's possible to get some functionality out of it if you want to jump through hoops it's not a solution for those who don't like messing around with their hardware. Believe me most of the stores I've seen the HD1000 for sale in are not stores where the majority of the customers are hackers. These are people that want to plug the device in and start using it.

I have a sound bridge I really enjoy using but my HD1000 is currently just an expensive compact flash card holder.

That's good news. BUT, I think that a lot of us that invested $300-400 in your company's product would like to see something a bit more formal out of you guys regarding the future of the device. Me, through lots of reading these forums and trying stuff out and telnet'ing to hack stuff, I've got mine nicely stable right now. Sure would be nice (especially for those who feel they have a really expensive paper weight) if Roku the company would come out with some sort of public statement on the future. We're not asking for specific dates for implementation of specific features, but something to show us we shouldn't just scrap these as obsolete and move on to someone else's product WOULD be nice.

I wonder what that 'another project' can be...

I love my Roku but I swear you guys are beginning to sound more and more like Turtle Beach did on the Audiotron (another living room favorite that had to go to Ebay).

As others have stated please be a little more forth coming as to when we will get back on a decent beta schedule.

flower, I would even except hearing that your deploying a replacement for the HD1K and that the will be the last release for it.

Is there a replacement being discussed? What ever you guys do please don't give me the dreaded discontinued statement.
