Sound dropping out? Tweaked drives?

Thu Dec 01, 2005 9:08 pm

New Roku.
Updated firmware.
Sound is sometimes dropping out after file plays for a while - 5-15 minutes.
Analog out (for now)
Mplay

Any ideas where to start?

Also any settings specific for buffering, drive space, ram needed, swap files etc? For maximum performance?

What type of files are you playing? If they're DVDs, then try using MPlayDVD instead of MPlay. You should have both if you're using the latest version of MPlay.

.ts files

I will test more tonight, both sequential and larger 3-4 gig files or better.

I may also be able to test the Spdif or see if Dolby drops out too.

Ok - its the same on SPDIF output

It seems when a file has a slight glitch - I lose sound. I think I can regain sound by moving ahead 30 seconds etc.

Is there a fix or setting to improve this issue?

So far very impressed with the Mplay.

Try "fixing" the ts files with mpeg2repair. Google it.
