Karaoke Channel?

Wed Jan 20, 2010 7:48 am

Just an idea. I'm not really that into it. But, I know there's a pretty big demand for it. I think there are some reputable websites that have legit subscription services that could integrate easily to the Roku Channel format. For example, http://www.thekaraokechannel.com/online/#
They even already call themselves a channel.

Just an idea for a fun option that could draw more interest in the Roku.

While Karaoke is not my thing, it would seem to be a great channel for Roku. The best thing to do is to petition the karaokechannel folks to consider developing a Roku channel.

I actually took vocal lessons for years. I used to sing all the time but, of course, life got in the way. It has probably been 15 years since I have been on a stage.

Yeah but bikes get rusty just like voices.

Finally there is a karaoke option on Roku - Sunfly. They're UK based - most of their digital songs listed on their site are available on their Roku channel. Their catalog is outstanding & the price is very affordable. I got a month subscription for $5.99. I plan on having a party later this month & offering karaoke, so this will be a ton cheaper than buying the discs I've been eyeing on eBay. Perfect timing! http://www.sunflykaraoke.com

If you wanted to publicize your channel you could have just started a thread instead of..

So, having another party and opted to not go with this channel. This year. There's no way to split up & sort out your queue. I had found some songs I liked but, it was impossible to scroll through them all with a house full of people. THe best bet is to find karaoke videos on Youtube and create a playlist for each genre. That way I can leave the room and my guests aren't utterly confused. And it's free & easier to sort through.
