Wed Mar 02, 2011 10:20 am

Hello

I’m thinking to get roku.
However for me is very important to be able browse web on tv.
Do Roku have browser which is capable to open every page and play flash movies?
Thank you

I guess iPhones aren't smartphones any more?

In any event, no, the Roku doesn't browse the web, nor does it play any flash content. For <$99, I'm not sure you'll find a device that meets this need. You could consider looking at GoogleTV: http://www.google.com/tv/getit.html but the price is significantly higher.

Where did this phone conversation come from? Were there posts deleted from this that I'm unaware of?

OP is looking for flash support. Roku can't do flash but many smartphones do. I was merely observing that iPhones are notorious for not supporting flash, and yet I still think of them as smartphones. Perhaps a little snarky, but then I also took the time to answer the intent of the original question with what I thought was a reasonable reply.

I didn't know you could make phone calls on an iPad. Oh wait, you can't make them on an iPhone either.

Now that's not fair. Some people have reported being able to make call as long as they don't actually touch the phone.

You certainly can via Skype - and the app is free!

Maybe I should point out the fact that I am too chea-ahhh-frugal to spend the money on a device that doesnt do what I want it to.No flash is a killer for me.My DD just bought a Dell Duo Convertable (netbook that has a flip over screen that converts to a tablet)dual core Atom,Flash :D ,etc.$399.Plays Netflix beautifully. But I would rather put that cash toward building a great HTPC.
