nowhere TV

Tue Aug 16, 2011 5:44 pm

Is nowhere TV a legitimate channel for Roku? I went to their site and my Norton software told me it detected a virus. Are there dangers dealing with private channels or counterfeits when trying to figure out this whole new world of Roku? Is there a place on the forums or somewhere else giving tips on how not be be conned or hustled? Thanks, Gary

Are you sure you went to the right site? I don't get any malware warnings. Here's the correct URL just in case: http://www.thenowhereman.com/roku/

To be blunt, this channel is quite legitimate. A little searching and browsing around these forums should give you a little insight. If you have a question about a channel, ask.
Roku XDS, AppleTV 3rd Gen
15mbps on TWC, DIR-615 Router (wifi-N to Roku)
Panasonic P42ST30 HDTV & BD-85 Blu-ray Player
Onkyo HT-S5400 7.1 system

Paid services:
Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu+, season passes, MLB.tv, IW Browser Roksbox

And for the record, any channel developed by nowhereman is as legitimate as you can get. Nowhereman developed so many good channels that Roku hired him full time and he is now known as RokuChris.

You can get a virus from Roku private channels? I don't think you can.
If it doesn't work, keep beating it with the hammer till it does.

Well, when I go to that site, I get a Norton warning:
Web Attack: Suspicious
Norton Blocked Executable image download.

Most likely it's the adsense image that is causing the problem. I'll alert Chris to this thread so he can look into it.
