Lots of discussion, none of it by anyone who could make it happen.

And the best way to push for this is to contact NFL Rewind directly and ask for it.

Howdy all,

I asked NFL support about plans for a Roku app .. and here is their reply:

Greetings -

Unfortunately, there is no Roku support at this time. Of course, we have looked at the Roku as a future option, however, there has been no definite talk or any confirmation that we can provide at this time. We appreciate your enthusiasm.

Please let us know if you require additional assistance.

Regards,

I don't mean to be a "smart ass" or a jerk about it. But I really don't know why and I would like to know. Why isn't talking about that particular channel allowed here? Aren't all private channels not supported? Yet there is plenty of discussion about those channels on this forum.

Please don't take it wrong, I won't discuss that channel, but I am curious about it.

^ Roku received a formal DMCA complaint from a content owner concerning that channel.

Just completed a 10 minute improvement survey sent to me my NFL rewind , When asked "what would make it more enjoyable for me " I typed in 'Roku" , Then I was surprized to see "Roku" listed twice later in the survey as future possible nfl rewind streaming devices . Hopefully the NFL's starting to come around .

Oh, what I wouldn't give for that (NFL Rewind availability on Roku) to be true.

But I won't hold my breath. After all, the NFL currently does not allow Airplay streaming to AppleTV devices from its Rewind app for the iPad. Now if the NFL won't readily give out such streaming rights to one of its media partners (in this case, Apple), then why should anyone expect the league to suddenly grant that kind of agreement to an outfit like Roku?

Airplay from the iPad to the Apple TV is not the same thing. At all. One (Roku) is a channel that directly streams content from the Internet to your TV. The other (Airplay) is a weakly encrypted, easily intercepted signal from one device to another.
