Please note that the Roku 1s that support 1080p, (Roku XR, XD & XDS), use 24 or
30 frames per second refresh rate. Some TVs and monitors, (like my ViewSonic
1080p monitor), can't handle less than 50 hertz / frames per second. That's why I
bought a Roku 2 XS, it supports 60 hertz / frames per second at 1080p.
Check your TV's specifications for the refresh rate. Note all Roku 1s in HD mode,
display the GUI in 720p always regardless of the video setting of 1080p.
Last, in the case of some local streaming private channels or the Official USB channel,
you have to name the videos to indicate 1080p like this;
That way the video player software can change the resolution to 1080p.
