The only PC type I would consider is either a Mac Mini or a mini Itx car type PC. But they are expensive require regular maintenance and don't fit very well with the rest of the gear ...

I'm now using the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 for HD photos and music. Both have excellent music players but the Playstation 3 won't play music on top of pictures. The XBOX does both very well together. Sorry to see the ROKU go but it served it's limited technology window well.
