it should work but rescanning every 5 minutes is a bit excessive...
How long does the scan take to complete if you run it manually?

Oh. Yeah. (duh.. I wasn't thinking).

The defaults are set such that "always_scan" is set to 0. That means that it will only do the scans when a client is connected. Ideally this is to let the drive spin down. If you turn always_scan to 1 in the web config, it should scan even if there are no clients connected.
