My Remote Doesn't Work

Fri Oct 14, 2005 7:26 pm

After using my Soundbridge M2000 for 10 months the remote stopped responding. I changed batteries and tried it from different positions but nothing seems to work. I can't seem to see any change in the bulb on the remote when I click on any of the buttons. Is it possible that the remote went bad? It has done this before for short periods, but now it seems kaput. Any ideas?

The remote uses infrared so you can't see the "light" with your eyes. However many video and digital cameras can see Infrared light - look at the bulb through a video/digital camera and press buttons - if it is working should should see it flicker. First try the camera with a working remote (e.g. tv, dvd player) to ensure the camera can see the infrared and doesn't filter it.
Also I wouldn't discount the possibility of a bad set of new batteries.

Good call on the batteries. I put in a fresh set and everything seems to work now. It sure seemed odd that a brand new set of batteries would be bad, but I guess that can happen. Thanks for the suggestion.
