NAS with embedded Windows XP

Sun Jan 29, 2006 4:39 am

Hey guys.

I've just stumbled across this LaCie NAS box: http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10647

One thing that looks fantastic, is the WinXP embedded - it should be possible to install WMC and use it as a server for my Roku.
One "slight" problem is that it's nothing more than huge (and pretty expensive as well).
Do any of you know a small NAS box with WinXP embedded installed instead of the low cost Linux that apparently seems to be the only option these days?

Take a look at the thin clients from HP and Praim.

You need to add a disk drive, but they represent good value for money and run Windows XP Embedded and support all the filing systems you are likely to need.

Cant see much advantage in these, just buy an old cheap XP PC from ebay or one of your mates and add as many disks as you like.
